Both Rig apps are on the App Store. Here’s how to get them set up so requests, messages and live tracking work.
Requires iOS 16.6 or later.
Set up
Get requests, messages and live tracking working.
Location: Always, with Precise Location on
- Open the Settings app, scroll down and tap Rig Driver or Rig Mechanic.
- Tap Location and choose Always.
- Turn on Precise Location.
Why: Mechanics need it to receive nearby requests and send offers. Once an offer is accepted, both apps share live location until the job is done, and not otherwise.
Notifications on
- Open Settings, tap Notifications, then the Rig app.
- Turn on Allow Notifications.
- Leave Lock Screen and Banners on so offers and messages reach you.
Why: New requests, offers, messages and job updates arrive as notifications.

Troubleshooting
No requests are showing (Rig Mechanic)
Check that Location is set to Always with Precise Location on, then reopen the app.
The location banner in the app is red
Location is off or set to While Using. Set it to Always in Settings, then reopen the app.
I’m not getting notifications
Check Settings › Notifications › Rig, and that Focus or Do Not Disturb isn’t silencing the app.
