Rig on Android.
Both Rig apps are on Google Play. Here’s how to get them set up so requests, messages and live tracking work.
Requires Android 8.0 or later.
Set up
Get requests, messages and live tracking working.
Location: Allow all the time, precise
- Long-press the Rig app icon and tap App info.
- Tap Permissions, then Location.
- Choose Allow all the time and turn on Use precise location.
Why: Rig uses your location in the background only for jobs: so mechanics receive nearby requests, and so the driver and mechanic can see each other from the moment an offer is accepted until the job is done.
Notifications on
- On Android 13 and later, tap Allow when the app asks.
- Otherwise: App info › Notifications, and turn them on.
- Keep the offer, message and job update categories on.
Why: New requests, offers, messages and job updates arrive as notifications.
Battery: don’t restrict Rig
- App info › Battery (or App battery usage).
- Choose Unrestricted.
Why: Some phones pause apps in the background to save battery, which stops live tracking and delays notifications.
